Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento
Ashton Blaise Whitty was born on the 1st October 1995 in Berkeley, California, USA. She is an actor, famous for Choices 2010. (also in the form of The Heart and Other Small Shapes), Chrissie Mayr's Content House (2022), and The Heart and Other Small Shapes.
Asia Argento, born in Rome to a family which includes directors and actors, pursued these professions as well. As a young girl, she made her acting debut in Sergio Citti's Sogni e bisogni. The year 1988 was the time she played the role of lead in the first feature of Cristina Comencini's film Zoo. She was also an integral part of Michele Soavi's acting cast for The Church. Red Wood Pigeon, the film she appeared in as Nanni Moretti's young daughter, was released just a few years later. But it is Close Friends by Michele Placido that saw Asia's acting career begin to take off. Cannes International Film Festival received the film with great awe. Daria Argento and her mother and one of the actors who was a favorite of Argento's, Daria was an orexic teenager searching for the killer of their parents, in Trauma. Asia played a role in Dario's Phantom of the Opera, the third film she directed with her dad. Other films included Trauma as well as The Stendhal Syndrome. In 1993 she co-starred in the film Perdiamoci by Carlo Verdone di vista in which she played Arianna, a physically disabled girl. It was a complex, challenging role that won her the David di Donatello award for most outstanding actress. She also played prominent roles in the international cast of Queen Margot directed by Patrice Chereau. In 1995, she was a co-star together with Michel Piccoli on Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio. This collaboration was rewarded with the David di Donatello prize and the Grolla of Oro. In 1994, Asia decided to try directing and turned out two short films in the episode of the film De Generazione In 1996 she made a documentary of her father, and in 1998, a film about legendary director Abel Ferrara, AbelAsia which won an award at the Rome Film Festival. The year 1999 was the year Asia began her film-directing career with Scarlet Diva in which she played the lead actor and wrote the screenplay. In May 2000, the movie became available to the public worldwide. The Williamsburg Festival of Film in Brooklyn, New York awarded it a prize.
